I HAVE RECEIVED A SELF-ASSESSMENT FORM. CAN I COMPLETE IT MYSELF?

You may be able to if your tax affairs are straight forward and you have few sources of income. However people who are required to complete a self assessment return usually have more complex affairs such as self-employed income, investment income, contributions to personal pensions, capital gains etc. There may also be loss-relief to consider as well. It is easier to employ an accountant to take the hassle out of completing the return, especially if you need to calculate the tax payable, The Inland Revenue will calculate this for you if you file by 31 October but it is not unknown for them to calculate this incorrectly,

We will carry out this work for a competitive fee and also advise you on any steps you could take to reduce future tax liabilities. We will also quote for any accounts preparation service that you may require.
